Welcome to the Home Page of
Clive Brown M.Sc., M.I.Biol., C.Biol.,
based in Kent, UK.

I found the following picture on the internet the other night and I, like the person who originally posted the picture, wondered where are the rest of the members of the photograph.

Salesian College, Battersea 1964 intake

Those of us that are in the photograph will remember that Michael Parrott (second row, 1st left) was tragically killed in a car crash when he was in the Lower Sixth. I can be found next to Michael Parrott, and I am amazed at how fresh and young we all look.

Mark Geraghty (second row, far right) emigrated to Perth, Australia when we were all in the Second Year. Alan Reynolds (who attended St. Joseph's School Dockhead along with Gary Browning (Row 2, 3rd left) and myself) left school at the end of the 5th year. The last time that I saw him was a few years after we left school and I had taken up a teaching post at Salesian School, Chertsey.

Our form teacher in the photograph was our Art teacher, Brian Conlon, and can you remember the name of our Headteacher in our 1st year at Battersea.

The people that I remember names for are:

Back row (left to right) - Chris Austen, Richard? Grabowski, Ashley Smith, Brendan Tutt, Alan Reynolds, Peter ?, Gerry Duffy, Tom McMorrow, ?, Terry ?, and Brian Phelan.
Middle row (left to right) - Michael Parrott, myself, Gary Browning, Michael McGrath,Stephen O'Donnell, Anthony Dywer, Paul Maynard, Chris White, Mark Douglas, Kevin Gorman, and Mark Geraghty.
Front row (left to right) - Daniel McSweeney, ? Ryan, Richard ?, Daniel Cunningham, Mr Conlon, ? Gibbons, ? Alberto?, ?, and Wally O'Rourke.
Seated (left to right) - ? Kozikowski? and Adrian Wheeler.

I have since found out that Fr. Michael Blackburn died suddenly about 4 years ago, and most of us will remember him as the Chemistry teacher who got us through the 'A' level syllabus in 12 months, and entered us early for the 'A' Level - in January 1971. I, for one, will be truly grateful for all that he did.

I can be contacted by e-mail, and I usually reply within 24 hours. If the uptake is there, I can also set up a mailing list for Salesian Battersea Old Boys.
